3 Books that I read in 2019 ! (Part 1) | Sudha Saswati Nayak

Updated: Nov 11, 2019

Hey There! A big hug to you if you are reading this because You are probably someone who is a Book Lover like me in this digital era. (I mean Paperback books, and not the digital versions of it). In the beginning of 2019 I had planned to read one book each month, and so far I have been able to finish 3 books only. (Not to mention that I am a slow reader.) alright, I mentioned it and I am happy that at least my reading habit is back now.

So, here are the 3 amazing books that you must start reading now.

1) The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo

Author: Paulo Coehlo

Genre: Adventure Fiction

I can not recommend enough of this book. It is a game changer. It will fill your soul with a hell lot of inspiration once you start reading it. Basically its about the journey of a Shepherd boy to his dream destinations and the way the writer has portrayed the story is just mind blowing. This book will force you to get out of your comfort zone and push you to achieve your goals in life. I am 100% sure of this, because that's what it did to me. The moment I took this book in my hands and started reading, I could not put it down until I finished it. It has beautifully described about the struggles, we human go through in our life and also has the solution to those problems written in it.

Now here are the things I have liked about it:

~Simple Language,

~Full clarity in the story,

~Every scene is depicted so beautifully that your imagination will know no boundaries.

~Every character in this book teaches you something new.

~Inspiring. Inspiring. Inspiring.

As a Traveler and a Human, I can totally relate to the Shepherd's boy life and his struggles. I can only say, Everyone should read this before they die. (Buy this book on Amazon)

2) Sidney Sheldon's The Angel of the Dark

Author: Tilly Bagshawe

Genre: Thriller and Suspense

This book is one of a kind. Now when I started reading I was a little confused because of all the characters it has in it. I find it difficult to remember all the names but Once I got used to them, things got pretty easy. In fact, then only I started enjoying it.

The story is about a girl named Sofia Basta who lives in a Children's home in New York and wants to fulfill her only wish in every possible way.

"I am not nobody, she told herself, breathing in the warmth of her friend's body. I am from a noble family with a romantic, tragic history. I am Sofia Basta. One day. far away from here, I will fulfill my destiny."

The book begins with a Crime scene and then it continues to describe several other crimes that are somehow related to previous ones & happen in different parts of the world like LA, London, France, Hong Kong and India. I don't want to reveal much about this book, so You have to give it a read to know what happens in the end. (Buy this book on Amazon)

My Reasons to Love this book are:

~Vintage Look

~You will be dying in suspense to know the consequences.

~Reading serial killer thrillers is a guilty pleasure for me.

Now the best yet complicated part is the chapters run in different time periods. One Important Tip before you start reading this book is: All chapters are not designated properly in time so you may have difficulty to have a better track of events so I suggest you to finish one chapter in one go.

3) Wings of Fire: An Autobiography of APJ Abdul Kalam

Author: Arun Tiwari and Abdul Kalam

Genre: Auto-Biography

The Introduction of this Great man is probably not needed here. Being the Former President of India & A Famous Scientist, he was a man of great personality, and this book covers his childhood memories and describes his Work life in Indian space research and missile programs.

What you can expect from the book is:

~ How was Kalam as a boy, a young man and a Scientist

~ A lot of Technical details about Space research and Missiles

~ How Kalam started his career in Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) and was involved in the design of a hovercraft.

~ My Personal Favorite is the initial chapters that provide an interesting glimpse of religious harmony which existed before India’s partition and the Simple Lifestyle of such a Brilliant man.

So, These are the books I want to recommend to you guys for now. If you have come across any other books recently please suggest me in the comments and point out why its your Favorite one. I would love to read it and know about your opinion regarding it.

Happy Reading !!
